The Second Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University, established in 1958,is an integrated three-rank A-grade hospital governed directly under the province, which combines with medical treatment, scientific research and teaching, owns abundant technical power and modernized medical treatment equipments. The hospital is covering the land area of 72,900m2 and 114,000 m2 for floor area to be able to provide with1,300 beds, more than 20,000 inpatients,10,000 operations and 600,000 outpatients. It has 1352 staffs, in which 188 persons with full professor title, 201 persons with adjunct professor title, 11 experts who enjoy government special subsidy on National Department level and 12 experts on Dalian city level, 128 tutors for doctor and master on 24 places for doctor and master.
With the source and power to constantly develop the hospital by technology, the hospital has undertaken more than 200 items of scientific research including national level and others recently, in which 4 items won national technological advancement and invention award, 94 items won provincial and technological advancement award, and the hospital also undertakes the task as the base of national pharmacology research and the brainstorm task of the ninth Five-year and the tenth Five-year. The hospital is cooperating widely in technology with medical organizations in Japan, U.S.A., Russia etc. and has about 100 people studying overseas or on academic exchanges.

Main treatment centers including organ transplantation center, PTSD intervene center, tumor therapy center, blood dialysis center, rehabilitation center, check-up center, epilepsy center etc., are developing vigorously, which technological level in some treatment centers has reached the domestic advanced level.
The hospital owns more than 2,200 sets of modernized medical device including such large-size medical instruments as U.S.A. GE MRI and ECT, U.S.A. Valian linear accelerator, Holland Phillip and Germany Siemens DSA,Germany Siemens multidetector spiral CT, artificial kidney hemodialyzer, auto biochemistry analyzer etc. In addition, the hospital is developing medical market and enlarging the scale constantly. In May of 2003, with the approval of Liaoning Province government, the hospital was consolidated with Dalian Petrochemical Hospital for reorganization to rename Petrochemical Hospital as the Second Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University North Part Hospital, so as to occupy the medical market in northern Dalian, and built the solid base for crossover development of the hospital.
The new first-class modernized outpatient building covers the land area of 30,000m2 with one floor under the ground and eight floors above the ground to be designed as hospital standard in international developed countries, which has perfect performance and rational flow equipped with advanced electronic network system to be able to realize the service aim as a modernized, humanized hospital.
